THE PREMIERE of DEATH...

I rolled up real early to a line of kids wrapping around the block.
We didn't really have security, so I worked the door, which sucks because I have to hold fans back who just want to see the movie. I fucking hate telling a kid to wait, or having to hold them back. Anyway, we let people in and the theatre got packed. Kids started getting rowdy and the owners of the place started getting bummed.

We showed the movie, but the sound was fucked! They couldn't turn it up very loud at all, and you had to stay pretty quiet to hear it. Weird, but it worked out OK, and people seemed to be pretty amped on it!

Then we tried to get people out and it started getting crazy. People started barging in, and I had a bunch of VIP's waiting outside that I needed to get in. Daewon Song, Jamie Thomas, Greg Lutzka, Darrel Stanton, and a ton of other friends of mine and the team were waiting in a sweaty, rowdy, and every moment angrier crowd...
The cops showed up to control the crowd, but people started throwing shit at them. I was able to get some people in, but at some point we needed to relieve the kids in the line, some of which were getting crushed, so we started letting people in and a stampede started, I got completely ran over, the door of the theatre got torn off it's hinges and glass started breaking... It turned into total fucking chaos. The riot police started getting aggro and arresting kids, rumors have it that they did so very forcibly, possibly breaking one kids' wrist. I saw 2 kids in the back of the police car when I left the place, and I saw one kid getting slammed to the ground. The theatre people were bumming hard at this point, and wanted to shut it down, but we begged them to just show the movie for the second time... We got the sound figured out, and the second showing went great, aside from the riot happening outside, and the damaged theatre, and all the kids who didn't make it in.

I am really sorry for anyone who didn't make it in, or anyone I had to hold back. I hate doing that shit.
My apologies to the theatre for the damage. My apologies for the kids who came and didn't make it in. My disappointment with the cops who harshed the Loyal Toy Machine Pawns. My anger with any skaters who caused a riot by fucking with the cops and ruining it for everyone else. My LOVE of the fact that we are skaters and we like it raw. Toy Machine came and left the streets of Long Beach in ashes.
Both good and bad, we fucked shit up.

That shit was aggravating, my friends and I were in line for a long ass time and we were the cops confiscated some kid's board, and then cups were flying through the air and hitting cops and their cars, it sucked, it was a show, but I really wanted to see the movie, especially after everyone walking out said it was awesome, I was pissed. I didnt know what was going on past the entrance but the only time I saw a pro was when Billy was leaving

Ed, you definitly had an eventful night. Holding kids back and trying to control it all for the video. I think the premiere went a totally different way than expected. I couldnt believe they filled the ENTIRE block with cops in riot gear during the second showing. And the underlying reason for all of those cops to arrive...the suffer the joy video. I hope your stress level has settled a little since the moment you were holding kids back while glass windows shattered. In the end it was worth it, right. The video premier made my fucking week!

that shit was nuts, i was at the front of the line for 45 minutes gettin crushed from behind, then when ed and that crazy black dude just said, "fuck it, let them in" it was a relief. i was right by the broken glass and the cops were just grabbin people outta the line, all in all though decent night. nicks part was fuckin nuts

ya i was there i tried watting for the next showing in side , then peopel got caottic , sow me and the homies did what everyone should have , gust wait in line , then the cops to;d everyone to leeve , while holding shot guns and shit like that , so we left , and dint see the movue at all, dud im usto controlling big crowds , if everyone was gust in a line , there would have bin no problems , next time i should run secerity , and there be no problems

I was so sad I didn't get to see the video. Me and my friend drove up from Victorville and had tickets. A cop grabbed me from behind and threw me and told me to get the hell out of here. That sucks it turned into that. Can't wait for the dvd though.

yo, i had one of them VIP tickets for the 2nd showing... and i was grabbed by the neck and t-shirt by a police officer and he pulled me by the collar/hood and threw me into the glass of the next building down from the art theatre for just standing there minding my own business.

he literally ripped my t-shirt.

i'm reallly bummed i didn't get to see the premeire.

police brutality for sure... i tried watching for long as i could but then i got yelled at for standing on the other side of the street watching. ed did a good job of holding people back as long as he could, plus his part was sick. i saw the first showing and i think the theater was way too small for as many people that came to see it. it was way better last year at the house of blues... way more room and less chaos. i saw people filming the cops slamming kids to the ground so hopefully they get busted for that... all in all it was a good night/a sick video
