im in a new town and, although there are people who skate here, i haven't connected with them yet. and in so many places there are awesome things to skate, a lot of them untouched, fresh new spots. the thing is, you can't psych yourself up to skate a 3 stair ledge to bank by yourself. i need a partner in crime to ride with. i'd feel very self-conscious skating a clearly visible street spot alone.

same here. I see awesome spots but end up skating shit tons by myself. so sometimes I'll do a 5050 on a little hubba I find and most of the time I'll just be skating the bank to wall and flatground "secret spot" I found. One of the people I know was like "you're too old to be looking for spots and skating."

I feel very alone after the move here.

my ankle is still fucked and I haven't been able to skate and have been confined to my apartment. Hopefully this week I can get out there again.

haha, my friends would only smoke weed and complain about society. I just skateboarded.They didn't graduate highschool. now they're in a crappy Anarchist Punk band. Those dudes blew it. I spent my Senior year skateboarding alone at break and lunch everyday by myself. I only said a couple of words to another skater,but never talked to any of the other ones. "Gay" was their favorite adjective also.

Now I don't really skate or get out of the house. fuck. I guess that's why we're all on the internet and commenting here. Sock Team pride.

Anyway,I guess once a skater,always a skater. you get the whole "skater's eye" thing. You know,when you see a sick spot and think it would be gnarly if someone did this or that there. I bet when I'm an old fart I'll be wheel chair'd up a ramp and there'd be a sick rail and I'll just think to myself "why hasn't anyone 5050'd this yet?" Or act surprised when little kids don't know who Cardiel or Mark Gonzales are. Anyway, yep, you'll be going along and always keep your eye peeled at stair sets and curbs.

I am going to try and put more weight on my ankle. It's getting better and I can kind of walk around my apartment. I took some advice from someone on here and started lurking more than commenting. I lurked moar before, then started getting all comment-y and now I'm back to lurker mode. which is ok.
