i looked at a bunch of friedlander's self portraits and i would say YES to your question. Especially the bathroom shot: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1228/1111388793_48e1c7152e.jpg?v=0

I think internet is changing photography in general. There are so many media outlets to display pictures on that it almost encourages people to take more photos than they would otherwise

someone said this the otherday: "photography is bullshit. everyone's a good photographer nowadays. you can just take a million pictures and delete the bad ones and put em online..."

Vinny, I dig ya' man.

You're right, the internet is changing photography, for the worse.

I'm more of a curious & determined person. I actually hadn't even touched a camera (other than a dispensable) before I found my AE-1 at some vintage shop in Orange.
That was 3 years ago, when I was 15, & I was so God damn into that shit... Film, film, film. I would shit talk you if you thought otherwise. That was until my good friend at the time got a Canon Rebel. Which was the shit of the time. I realized that every shot I took, looked great. I wanted one, really badly. But with film, you fuck up. The glory behind the film is knowing whether or not that one shot that you thought is going to turn out great, actually came out the way you wanted it to. I have wasted countless dollars buying film. It's all fucking worth it.

Film tells a story. You program it to your liking.
Digital is automatically programmed to make your story sound amazing.

But that's just me.

it's weird when people fake smile in their photos.you know, say "cheese"
Will Mark Gonzales show up? I bet everyone is like calling him on the phone"hey Gonzoroni, come to this shit,we'll buy your favorite soda flavor for you"
dude, they have free colt 45 beer.
What's the point of the event anyway? Altamont and Nike SB stuff is way too overpriced, mostly the Nike stuff.

Fuck Nike.

About photography, I think digital is all the things you posters said it was. It's so "disposable" now. But if you try to do it with sincerity, and with real film, there is a craft to that. Digital and color is the new mainstream. Making legit B&W prints can never be beat.

I meant 'disposable'... haha.
