I heard he was going so I called some people who know some people and got Deanna and I on the list with some photo passes. I didn't even bring my camera, so I re-gifted the pass to Grant who got a month long boner about it. He and Deanna spent the first half of the concert right at the stage...
Total woody.
It is a Canon AE-1 vs some serious digital gadgetry. "Dude, Isaac is right there!"
Before the band started. Deanna went in with Grant because she brought her camera. She took my digi cam in with her for you, the blog lookers.
They came out and started playing. I know it is not fair, but all concerts get measured against Fugazi concerts in my head. Nothing has ever come close. Modest Mouse is like watching Barry Manilow in slo-mo in comparison to Fugazi.
Isaac was looking at Grant.
Something was brewing in the crowd...
Lo and behold a bouncer had to dive into the sweaty mob. These two portly Mexican boys had been standing by us on the side, staggering with drunkenness before the show. We could see in their glazed expressions absolutely no signs of intelligence, you can just see right through, you know? Like the cold stare of a fish. When the band walked out on stage, the entire front section shrunk in to the center and many people who were waiting in the wings took their cue to barge into the center, heavily annoying all the people who waited all night for their spot. Well, this bouncer had to escort those two plump thugs out with bloodied faces. Maybe the 3 ridiculously buff marines who barged in as well met up with them? Semper Fidelis!
Grant sent me his B&W images from the show...
Yeah Grant!
