I finally got some time with my crippled hand to process and update the site.
I broke the "finger-tip bone" aka Distal Phalanx when I pulled the rip-cord on an outboard motorboat engine with all my might, and the cord didn't budge, whipping out of my hand and raking hard over my fingers. It hurt pretty bad, but I still wen't snorkelling and saw a massive shovelnose guitarfish! I was contemplating not getting it checked out, but ended up getting an x-ray. What should have been one bone was in three pieces.
Another shot pre-X-ray. Swollen, purple, and shiny, not good signs.
Deanna took some shots after the surgery.
They write "yes" on the arm that is supposed to have surgery and "no" on the other, just in case the doctor comes in blazing and starts cutting up the wrong arm. The nurse said "You'd be surprised..." as she was doing it.
DRUGS
A peek at two of the 3 pins in my fingertip.
Out of it.
Although it is just my fingertip, the doctor wrapped my whole hand to restrict movement.
Lookin' gruesome.
The one coming right out of the tip.
So that's my week, Had an epic day with dolphins, broke my finger, now swimming and skating are over for who knows how long? FUUUUUUUUUCK.
