Two great people stopped by today...

Ian Mackaye is in town doing some Q&A sessions around southern California and stopped by for a visit. Ian is a new father with his partner and bandmate in The Evens, Amy Farina. Their son's name is Carmine. We took them to Mothers around the corner for some food...

Great person #2 was Geoff Rowley, who came to eat dinner with us and go see the talk at UC Irvine.

This was the talk - very inspiring.

Ed, I checked out Fugazi for the first time because you suggested them in an interview and I've been a big Dischord fan ever since (Q and not U!!). Thank you for that. I think Ian's music has made a lot of people think. That must have been a really interesting night. I would love to hear one of Ian's talks.

How could you listen to Dischord bands and not give Fugazi a listen?

Ian Mackaye just hangin' out in your fucking house... What the fuck?!?!?

I love that man. MORE THAN YOU JGONZ!!!

I wonder if Ed could get Morrissey up in his crib. And i wonder if Ian or Rollins still skates. I wonder if Moz ever tried skateboarding?

I really doubt that Morrissey is as approachable as Ian or Rollins. I could have possibly met him twice, once was a video shoot where I knew the casting person and could have went, and another was a catering gig for some event where I knew the caterer, both times I didn't go.

I think hes gonna do an interview for my friends radio show!!!!

Wasn't that when Patrick O'dell did the music video?I would have just gone to scope the scene.
I wonder if Moz has ever checked this site?or if he even goes on the internet, then again. What does he do?Probably watches Baker 3 all day.

JGonz, I started with Fugazi and then found other Dischord stuff from there.
Posted By: Zach on October 23rd, 2008 at 08:15AM PST
I misread it.So you listened to Fugazi then went listened to other bands,eh?
I heard Minor Threat first, some homies had buttons on their jackets and I went on the internets and listened to some music, then bought their CD.Good music

ed i know you don't usually comment twice on these things, but what was wrong with geoff's foot/ankle?
Posted By: weave on October 23rd, 2008 at 06:47PM PST
Geoff just had ankle surgery, and at the time of this photo his cast had only been off for a few hours!
