Today was a bank holiday so we just cruised the streets taking pictures and trying to find things open.

We are in Bologna, Italy. Here is an overview of the city in relief map form, marked with where we are staying.

There is lots of medieval history here, the architecture, churches, and museums reflect this proudly. It is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe.

The churches are splendid.

This is Basilica di San Petronio, (I stole this from Wikipedia, cause I forgot to shoot a photo) It dominates the Piazza Maggiore and is the fifth largest church in the world. The first stone of construction was laid June 7, 1390. In 2006, plans by Muslim terrorists to destroy the Basilica were thwarted by Italian police. The terrorists claimed that a 15th-century fresco inside was insulting to Islam. The fresco, created by Giovanni da Modena, represents a scene from Dante Alighieri's Inferno, and depicts Muhammad in Hell being devoured by demons. I saw that mural, it is pretty epic.

The museum had a fine collection of medieval beat-down sticks.

Checked out this statue of a Mermaid fight, complete with
Mermaid Ass.

And this statue of a lion getting gnarly.

It had an amazing tail-boner...

Then it ate Deanna.

Deanna near a pretty fountain.

Some local graffiti that was enjoyable.

Sweet shirt Deanna wanted me to copy for Toy Machine. Going to check out
Deformer today!
