I have come to the end of my Budapest photos. If I find some more I will post them. Thanks to the people of Budapest for making my stay so great. I can't wait to come back.

Budapest, Hungary - part 20

Whoa, 20 posts about Budapest so far, I'm reaching the end.

The future is a long way away.

Almost every day we walked by a school having recess and I would shoot random bundled up kids.

She'll be smoking in 5 years.

A forlorn rose lay forsaken on the cold wet stones.

Hey-Zeus in shackles and crown of thorns.

A Hungarian citizen on his way to see the Cemetery of Reason at the Ernst Muzeum.

Budapest, Hungary - part 17

Continued lurking in Budapest, Hungary.

The Danube river swelling as the snow melts.

You can see a car on the road that was surprised by the flooding and had to turn back.

This face bothered me every time I walked by it. It looks like some skater, but I can't put it together.

As we walked we came across a statue covered in plastic. I assume the city did this to save the statue from the wear and tear of a harsh winter? Perhaps a Budapester can enlighten me...

An art piece in it's own right.

The faces peeked out creepily from their gauzy veil.

Breaking the cardinal rule of plastic bag usage.

Budapest, Hungary - part 16

Deep into my paltry haul of B&W images from this Eastern gem of a city.

Still in Vienna, I lurk on a gentleman drinking a beer.

Kevin and Zsolt were sampling the namesake food item in Vienna, The Wiener, or Vienna Sausage.

Back in Budapest night had clearly fallen.

The only light was from inside busses where the denizens were captive to my shooting.

It was nearly too dark to shoot, even the fairest of street walkers were cloaked in the pervasive lack of color.

Morning a new day, and new things hapening to see.

The air was quite crispy this morning, and the breath from inside comes into sight with each exhale.

On the way to work at the Ernst.

Budapest, Hungary - part 15

A little Budapest, then a day trip to Vienna, only 2.5 hours away.

Every day we walked the short jaunt from our hotel to the museum. And most days I would shoot the people I walked by. Sadly, with such a big coat on, I was a bit encumbered, and mostly missed my framing. Oh well.

Handcuffed Mannekins. Stupid, but here you go.

Budapest has one of the oldest subways in the world. Don't believe me?

Then we went to Vienna, Austria, only a two and a half hour car ride away. We went to see art. Kevin enjoys a David Hockney.

Kevin also lingered over some hyper-realistic sculpture.

It was all pretty believable until you got to the crotch. No vulva, and sloppily glued on fur?

Some kids were bored out of their mind in the Albertina Museum.

The kids outside were having more fun.

I do like this one. Smoking is very big in Budapest, and many people rock those really skinny ones. If you ever wonder who smokes those, they do in Budapest.

Budapest, Hungary - part 13

A night of cruising around, lurking in the dark.

On the borderline which separated you from me.

It was like being in Disneyland without it being fake.

Chain Bridge at night.

Has been here since 1849.

I missed this photo by fives paces. But if you can imagine the guy standing with his feet closer to the bottom of my frame, then you can see what I was after. This is only one of 60 failures per day.

Thomas looks in to see what is to be seen. In this case, nothing.

The tram coming from under the street and running along the river had a certain charm to it that I could not resist.

Park your dog outside in the freezing cold while you praise your lord?

The crypt of the church was open, and we cruised around looking at the plaques in front of cremated humans.

Outside kids played, unaware of death, or the ashes of the dead below them.

Budapest, Hungary - part 11

A mega-post of the opening...

The first thing we did was show Hans-Peter the show, because he had very important work to do back in Vienna, a news conference about the Dioxin outbreak in chickens? The people want to know, can it spread into Austria? And Hans-Peter is the guy they ask. (Another reason not to eat animals.)

These first two photos were by Hans-Peter himself. He was on a train back for Vienna, and my long day was just starting.

Lets get right to the opening photos. I was "detained" for the entire opening, talking and signing stuff, so I didn't get to see how big the crowds were or anything. But luckily Deanna took my digi-cam and shot some scenes during the opening. Here is her work:

The last minutes before I had to leave...

These ladies were interesting. But we had a hard time talking due to the language barrier.

I then escaped to the outside, this is the view from out there. I was being stalked by a strange man and had to get out.

Kevin and Philippe at our favorite vegan restaurant in Budapest, Napfenyes Etterem, which translates into Sunshine Restaurant. Look for that on our Food Blog later...

The nice woman who served us every night.

After the dinner we were taken to a bar, (smoking still allowed inside in Budapest) and even at 38 years old I'm still getting peer-pressured into drinking beer. Here we have Kevin and Tim both giving me the sign for "You're a pussy."

And so I drank the nasty Unicum, which tastes like cough syrup.

And then replaced that crappy taste, with a slightly less crappy taste, beer. Every once in a while I taste these beers just to reconfirm that beer tastes like shit. That is one of many reasons I do not drink. (And still dont')

But everyone else has a great time drinking beer in a smoke filled room, and more power to them!

Good times. All of these people have been so kind to me, and so helpful and gracious to help make this show happen. I can never thank them enough.

Kevin loves it. The next day I flew home sick from some transfer of disease, and spent a few days in bed recovering.

Budapest, Hungary - part 9

Pest is stunning overlooking the Danube from atop Buda.

When you get to the the rivers edge, the beauty of Budapest really opens up.

I love funiculars, and we took one to the top.

Up we go.
