We tried to get Julian and David to "Lady and the Tramp" it. They wussed.

Jimmy was bummed they were out of steak. So went with the veal. Don't have the mom? I'll take the kid.

It was Stu's first time to NYC, but not Spanky's.

Our hotel in New Jersey was in a pretty nice spot...

The van was bursting at the seems with RVCA riders.

Jimmy fantasizes about having a schlong this big, and this high up on his chest too. But mostly so he can lick it himself, and not for any other reasons.

They had iced towels in the VIP tent for us. How nice.

And free stuff that aside from liquids and a few snacks, none of us needed.
This was before the demo even started. Here is the footage of the DEMO.

I took a walk around the Couch Tour event to see what was happening.

I think the Skull Candy people were torturing kids for free prizes. Man, the things people will do in this recession for a free sticker.

There was some element of perversion in this, or is that just me?

Bumming: all that dancing and gunk and you lost.

You have to wash yourself in a toilet after too.

Good times.

The signing, where we signs stuff and some security guard yells at kids who try to get more than 2 things signed. Really? Kids wait in line for two hours and they can't even get more than the poster and something else signed? Most of them don't know who any of us are anyway. You have to be on Fuel TV or the Berrics to be known by a kid these days.

Came across a pack of rabid fans by chance, so we jumped out of the van to see what was happening. Apparently actor Sean Hayes, was interacting with his people, who were singing him Happy Birthday. Jimmy has a better shot, I'm sure you'll see it on the RVCA blog.

Stu, Jimmy, and Harmony are repping Dave Letterman.

This kid was tripping on Leo.

Harmony had a pal in NYC...

Stu fanned out on 30 Rock center...

And we hit up the Seinfeld reastaurant...

Back to the hotel in Queens.

I asked him if he felt tough having a cast. He said not at all, it makes me feel like never doing that again.

This is where I get my love of maps. My grandfather made a map to teach my grandmother about the war. She then scrapbooked it, and we still have it 67 years later.

Flying low over the suburban bliss of Southern California.

The smog always hangs low.

The lakes shrivel in summertime.

Nobody on it, I wonder if it's polluted?

The sprawl I grew up skating.

The boulevards stretch all the way up to LA.

I have nothing to say to this one.

The 405 I drive on more than quite often.

Then right to Mothers Market, and lurking.

It's good to be home.

Deanna had some shopping to do.

The checkout lady was bummed about some unruly child.

Then I went downtown HB to see my people, the sun and the beach, the ocean and the lack of humidity.

Ran into Devin Briggs, the guy who only comments "devinbriggs.com" although I think he has opinions and things to say. His GF was holding back something, but she was too shy to say anthing aside from devinbriggs.com.

The Boss, Andrew Reynolds is a healthy food addict now, and was more than down to go to Whole Foods with me to do some shopping.

I can't tell you how much respect I have for this guy.

Keeping his body in tip-top shape for Stay Gold, yes, but mostly for himself. He loves skating and wants to do as long as he can, and to do that he knows you have to take care of your body. I wish all the skaters on Baker and Toy Machine followed his lead!

He even got me doing some stretches...

Looking up skate videos.

This was the first kid I saw in Tampa on Go Skate Day. What a great start to the day!

He's not messing around. I should do a board like this, no?

The crowd was ready to shred the streets. It was only eight trillion degress outside.

After the 5 mile skate that nearly ended my life, I sat with some fellow skaters who had made the trek also. This gal's favorite skater is Bucky Lasek, and she likes to skate vert. I think her and her friend watch a lot of Fuel TV.

This is her buddy, he likes Rodney Mullen.

The Bro Bowl in Tampa. Andrew ollied this much to the delight of the crowd.

Then I ran into John Montessi. This guy was on New Deal in 1990, 91, just like me! He owns a skate shop now called WestSide. (check out their blog of the GSD event.)

This was from the airport in Houston, TX where I had a layover today.
I didn't shoot much digital, so this is all I have right now from my Tampa adventure.

The first two days we were there were unremarkable due to a debilitating headache. But the last day Grant and his GF Ashley came to party with us.

The boat was full, and they were on standby!

Fast forward to our picnic on a deserted beach. That is our little boat anchored out there to the right of Deanna's head. (Not the one with the mast.) Not a single person around, the entire cove to ourselves. We had already seen two Bald Eagles flying overhead, and there were two skeletons of dead pelicans on this beach.

Willow Cove was ours. We picniced and skipped rocks, hiked around, and handled dead pelicans. The weather was perfect, the company sweet, the food epic, and the location unmatchable.

At first I was like, "No shirt off photos!"

Then I was like, "Fuck it, Grant, lets compare abs!"

My old Indiana Jones hat got too haggard, now I have this one that is not as cool.

The beautiful people fill the beach nicely.

Lets get a smootch.

This was Grant jumping off Frog Rock. Deanna was late on the trigger. The water was very shallow this day, 5 to 6 feet deep at the most. I hit the bottom pretty hard both times I did it.

This lady was a mermaid for I don't know how many hours. But her back must have hurt when she got out.

They make a sand sculpture and people walk by and throw coins down at them...

Late at night, walking by clubs with velvet ropes and scantilly clad women, this stretch Hummer rolls up and these 3 kids are so stoked on it that they pose for a photo with it. The river Thames, my old friend.

The Tower of London, aka, the old castle... Where they had a moat, kept lions, tortured people on the rack, or strung them up, beheadings were common... that place.

Henry Walpole, imprisoned, tortured, all that. And he left some graffiti that stands to this day. Take that Banksy.

I don't know why I shot this photo, but here you go.

Came across a pro-Palestinian protest in the streets of London.

They cleaned it up so damn quick. Within minutes the streets were back to normal. They are used to this in London.

Saw this at a Christian bookstore about how to deal with Richard Dawkins.

I'm sure Deanna finds it silly...

Her minions best behave.

There is nothing like this in Huntington Beach, or even in LA.

Some protesters had snuck past the gaurds and onto the roof. The cops let them have thier fun for fear they will jump. They just wait them out before arresting them. I'm proud of these guys.

Who is that? Rick McCrank and his fiance Lee... (Leigh? Leah?)

The Seconds Pass...

So how did I come across Rick McCrank? I'm walking through Leicester Square randomly and see a pack of kids with skateboards. I think to myself, "that is odd in this part of London." I think that perhaps there is another skate video premiering at one of the local theaters. So I follow the kids over to the theater and it turns out there is a skate premiere, because there were tons of skaters there, but no sign saying what movie it was. Just as I was feeling awkward about possibly being seen lurking around some skate premiere with no intention of going in to see it I get attacked by an excited Rick McCrank, who is here to premiere in the UK his new film MachoTailDrop! We were literally on our way to dinner and suddenly Rick hands us two tickets and in we go to watch the film. (which rules, every skater should see it.)

And after the film Rick and John Rattray, who is also in the film, had to get up and do a question and answer session before a tough English crowd. "Did anyone bang the hot chick in the film?" –English crowd

What a strange day walking around London and a strange circumstance that brought us around the theater at the exact time the film was starting. Chance is a tricky one, we wouldn't be here without it.

Afterward I had an awkward talk with John. We are always awkward together and I don't know why.

I wonder what Deanna would look like as the Queen.

Just then the elevator doors opened creating another awkward moment.

Hanging out in the Helmut Newton photography museum. They are total dicks about taking photos in there, so I had to sneak a few.

Two whole rooms are framed pages from his big book SUMO, sorta weird that they are not real prints, but you get to see a lot of stuff, even if you can see it all in book form at your own house.

The bookstore had The Prevailing Nothing, that was unexpected.

Saw this dude Walton Ford's show at the Hamburger Banhoff.

Whoa, the RVCA team is in Berlin at the same time as my vacation! So I showed up for the demo and signing. Here we have Deanna with the storied Mike Burnett.

Kevin Long – a man I have always known as Spanky, although I think he is shedding that moniker.

Cairo Foster, gets interviewed by the German media, they love to tell you how bad you are and see how you respond. I hope they realize this guy is a legend.

Leo gets rad, always. I don't have any photos from the signing or the demo, but I can describe them thusly: Nobody came to the signing, and the demo was in fact a "jam" on the first day of practise for a contest. So basically we were asked to skate during a bunch of dude's practise time. and NO fans were there, only people in the contest who could care less about seeing and old guy skate. Me and Kevin are the only ones that skated over 5 minutes.

Can you imagine walking down a street in your town and seeing the trees lined with dead bodies? I can't. If you were in Europe from 1939 to 1945, your chances of coming across something like this were pretty good.

I hate scharfing.

We saw a Frida Kahlo Exhibit, they had the cast that was on her body after her accident. No, it wasn't the one that was touching Salma Hayek's boobs.

The Berliner Dom, or Berlin Cathedral with a full moon. I watched Wolfman on the plane, and thought it was pretty dumb.

A nice view of the St. Baafs Cathedral, home of the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, by the Van Eyck Brothers. The Dutch call it simply "Lam Gods."

There was some incredible weather, some of the best thay have had all year, I'm told.

The sun was out, people were on the river in boats, enjoying life.

And by people I maen tourists. I wish I took a boat tour...

This scene was literally out the front door of our hotel.

Skatespot check. Never saw one kid here. Note to Gent skaters: Blowing it.

You have to 'go in' inside the fountian because of the gap...

And we did our now traditional Sunday brunch at Thomas' house. He was flipping a pancake...

Then disaster struck...

It clearly passed the 3-second rule...

I ended up eating it. Some fake butter and maple syrup easily take care of any dirt.
