A little bit of imagery from my Catalina trip...

Image Description
The Casino Ballroom, which is not a gambling casino, but a building that has a theatre, a museum, and a giant dance hall. I saw Pirates of the Caribbean there. This bird, a common seagull, was lurking hard and waiting for some morsels of food to drop anywhere near him so he could swoop down and get it...
I also went on the glass-bottom boat while we were in Avalon. A total Rip-Off in my opinion! They take the boat EXACTLY where you can snorkel, and then throw food overboard. This is what you see. Weak right? You will see way more fish right up in your grill if you go snorkeling on your own. Like these Garibaldi I shot with a disposable underwater camera. This is California's State Fish, and it is illegal to catch or kill them. They are plentiful there, and come right up to check you out.
This is a photo of Deanna in the morning at our campsite near Two Harbors. Our tent was warm and toasty. And Sophia, my 4 year old niece, enjoyed her first camping trip very much.

A day at the beach.

Image Description
I rode my bike to downtown Huntington Beach on 4th of July. It was quite weird down there. Lots of People.
Image Description
There were these 3 girls wearing Red, White, and Blue bathing suits. But they had a friend, a 4th one who was also wearing Blue. So it was Red, White, And 2 Blues.

They also had blow up play things for the younger kids, which I thought were free, but then later found out that you had to pay. Poor Kids!

The people who come for various reasons...

To an art show in LA. Do they all come to see art? I hope so. But I wonder too.
Image Description
I know this guy we call Reda HATES art. So he must have come to say "Hi" to any skaters there, like this guy JASON, who is a big fan of looking at art. I assume he came to see art and to say "Hello" to old friends, maybe even show some support...
This kid WILLIAM came because his photos were on display. So he came to Suffer the Joy of looking at people look at your artwork. He looks Asian, but is, in fact, of Hispanic descent...

Back from Catalina Island

Image Description
Jesse pokes a fire in the dusky evening. The wind picks up and the fire is perfect for keeping warm. Our campsite looked over a bluff into a small bay of the Pacific, facing northeast across the channel.
Image Description
This was our view that evening.

From the top of the Pompidou Center in Paris...

Image Description
...The world seems like a romantic place. A quick cuddle with my life collaborator before we descend into the museum to consider artwork. How blessed are we! (for being able to commit such frivolous acts such as these!! (both cuddling and looking at artwork)

Happy 4th of July!! Remember.

Roasting (veggie) Dogs over the Fire...

Image Description
And henceforth ingesting copious amounts of carcinogens when the outer skin boiled up and blistered black. There is nothing like charred foodstuffs causing your cellular milieu to freak out into a cancer causing melee...
The fire so hot, and the skewers so short, made your face feel crispy on the verge of melting.
And yet, what fun to be making caustic Smores out of vegan Mallows, and dark chocolate! It brings back distant memories of being a kid again, wait, I'm not one still?

Flag Burning, is it really an issue still?

Image Description
Even if someone wants to burn a flag, they still have to buy one. and that's good for the economy. I am not interested in burning a flag, and I am also not interested in spending my time deciding if it should or should not be legal. Just leave that where it is, and move on to more pressing topics!
